One USP, Ranking, History

The Sydney Mechanics' School of Arts, founded in 1833; is the oldest continuously operating Mechanics' Institute in Australia, and is where the UTS got its start. Good scholastic performance over the years the university has achieved rank 137 in the 2023 World University Ranking by the QS Top Universities & 112 in Best Global Universities 2022 (US NEWS).

As of 2021, the University has a total student body strength of over 45000 of which 1500+ are overseas candidates. Additionally, since 2004, UST's internationally accredited educational institution (IEN) has served as a specialized institution for international educational exchange (TNE). Professional bodies have also recognized several programmes, ensuring that students' degrees will be respected in their chosen industry once they graduate.
