International students in Finland can work up to 30 hours per week during semesters. Wages vary by sector, but the average part-time pay ranges between 9 to 13 EUR/hour (₹ 810 to 1,170).
Knowing basic Finnish helps when applying for part-time jobs, especially in retail, hospitality, or customer service. Some jobs may require at least A2-B1 level Finnish, but international or English-speaking roles are also available in bigger cities.
Yes. Indian students need a residence permit to study in Finland, not just a visa. You must show your university admission letter (paid tuition deposit), proof of enough money for living expenses (around EUR 560 per month), valid health insurance, and a clear study plan.
Finland has one main intake each year for most degree programs. The Autumn 2025 intake starts its application process in January, with deadlines usually around mid-January. Apply early through the national Joint Application system. However, upGrad programs also have a January intake.
