Admissions

1. Are Golden Gate University Worldwide degree programs recognized by the International School of Management?

Golden Gate University Programs are designed and delivered as per regulations set forth by WSCUC - WASC Senior College and University Commission (The official accreditation body of HEIs in California). As an officially accredited University in the United States, International School of Management, Germany will accept transfer credits from GGU for their undergraduate degree program - B.Sc. International Management. The same has been established and effectuated with an official agreement between the two universities.

2. Can I join this program without a TOEFL/IELTS Score and attempt TOEFL/IELTS after joining the program?

Yes, you can join this program without a TOEFL/IELTS score & upGrad will help you prepare for the English Entrance test to establish your current English proficiency to be eligible for a B.Sc. International Management program in Germany.

3. Can we get a TOEFL/IELTS waiver, if we study through upGrad?

To study at the International School of Management, you will have to meet the university’s English Proficiency Requirements. upGrad will prepare you to meet these English proficiency requirements through specific study material.

4. I have not yet received Class 12 marks, am I eligible to apply for this program?

Yes, you can apply and block your seat for the program in case you have given exams in the 2024 academic year for class 12 and have not yet received a marksheet. You can block your seat by paying INR 25,000. The rest of the fees will be payable once you receive the mark sheet. You need to score a minimum of 60% or above marks to be eligible for the course. In case you do not score 60%, you can request for a refund of your block payment as per the refund policy.

5. Is it possible for me to submit an application for the program even if I achieved a GPA below 3.0 in my GGU certificate program?

Applicants with GPA below 3.0 will be required to take an admission test, which includes assessments in Mathematics and English (at a B2 level), as well as participate in an interview. To begin the admission process, applicants should complete the online registration. It is essential for applicants to prepare for and submit the required assessments by the deadline specified in the instructions.

6. What is a conditional offer letter and how is it different from a confirmed offer letter?

The conditional offer letter will be issued to you by the International School of Management based on the documents submitted by upGrad. These documents will be class 10th & 12th marksheets, passports. The conditional offer letter will be converted into a confirmed offer once applicants meet the conditions mentioned in the conditional offer letter. These conditions will be English proficiency conditions, successful completion of the course at Golden Gate University and any other condition which the University deems fit.

7. Is there a minimum qualification for this program?

For GGU

  • Applicants who have appeared for 10 + 2 examinations, (e.g. A level, CBSE, HSC, IBDP, ISC, etc.) with 70% marks or above from any stream.
  • Applicants who have completed class 12th in the year 2026 will be eligible for the Program. Applicants enrolled for any graduate or undergraduate programs shall not be eligible to apply.
  • Applicant's 12th passing year must be the same as the enrolment year for the program.

For ISM

  • The applicant should successfully complete 1 Year of Certificate in Business Management from GGU with a minimum of 3.0 GPA in each course as well as aggregate leve.
  • Applicant with less than 3 GPA marks will have to pass the admission test*
  • English Proficiency Requirements are TOEFL (iBT) >= 80 or IELTS score >= 6.0 and also required Medium of Instruction English (not older than 5 years).

  • Test comprises a Case Study and an Interview.
  • Applicants must have a UG degree in which at least 30 ECTS have been obtained in the field of business (e.g., business administration, economics, business information systems; or related fields), of those credits or in addition to those credits at least 10 ECTS must have been earned in quantitative courses (e.g., mathematics, statistics, computer science, technology, market research, econometrics; or related fields).
  • We will also support you for the application process to the International School of Management, Germany, once we receive all the mandatory documents from your end. You need to provide all the documents required to apply at International School of Management, Germany within 3 months of the Cohort Commencement date of the M.Sc. Accelerated Program. We will also guide you for applying to the German Embassy for a Visa once you receive required documents from the ISM Germany.

8. Are there any additional fees required to enroll in the program offered by the International School of Management, Germany?

Yes, an enrollment fee of EUR 1,500 is required to secure admission into the program.

About the Bachelor’s Program at International School of Management

1. How can I apply for the program?

  • Applications can be submitted online via upGrad.com.
  • Based on the confirmation of eligibility, a provisional offer letter will be rolled out.
  • Applicant needs to pay required fees to upGrad.com
  • Once the tutuion fees is received and documents have been verified, a confirmation of enrollment into this program shall be received.

2. What are the course options available for a Bachelor's degree at International School of Management?

At International School of Management, you will have the option to pursue the following course-

  • B.Sc. International Management
  • B.Sc. Finance & Management

3. What type of learning experience should I expect?

The content will be a mix of interactive lectures from industry leaders as well as world-renowned faculty. Additionally, the program comprises live lectures or hangout sessions dedicated to solving your academic queries and reinforcing learning. Once you reach Germany, you will get face to face learning from Professors. On completion of the program, you will have the option to apply for PSW in Germany as well as get support from the International School of Management, Germany and Career Services to build a career in Germany.

4. Is any certification granted at the end of the program?3

Post successful completion of the 1-year program, a transcript will be issued from Golden Gate University, US and a Bachelor's degree in B.Sc. International Management from International School of Management, Germany.

5. Are the International School of Management Courses recognized and accredited by any governing bodies?

Yes, all the International School of Management courses are indefinitely accredited by FIBAA (State Accreditation).

6. How will the International School of Management help in finding internships and job opportunities after I complete a course ?

International School of Management has a career hub that assists applicants in all aspects that come with applying for a new job and works to prepare applicants for an upcoming interview. They will help applicants in building a resume, & cover letter; exploring their transferable skills; developing accomplishment statements and conducting mock interviews.

University Partner

1. Do we get a conditional offer letter at the initial stage or after completion of the 1st year with Golden Gate University Worldwide?

Once you enroll in the Bachelor’s program (B.Sc. International Management, ISM) with upGrad and provide all the required documents, upGrad will submit applications to the University partner (ISM) on your behalf. University partner (ISM) will release a conditional offer letter within one month of application submission.

2. What would be the alternate option if I could not get a conditional offer letter from ISM?

This is a highly unlikely scenario. In case you do not get a conditional offer letter from International School of Management, you may apply to our other partner schools in U.S.A., Canada or France (based on your eligibility) or continue studying online from Golden Gate University.

3. How many intakes are available at the International School of Management?

International School of Management offers two intakes for applicant. The intake options would be March (Spring) and September (Fall) intake.

Visa

1. Will upGrad help me in writing Academic and Visa SOP?

Yes, upGrad will help with your Academic and Visa SOP and will also organize training on how to write a good SOP.

2. Can we get a PSW visa if we study this program in India and then for 2 years at the International School of Management?

Germany PSW visas are available to all the applicants who have completed at least 1 academic year at a German University fully on-campus. As you are studying a full time course for 2 years, you will be eligible to apply for up to 18 months of PSW after completing your course.

3. How much are the living expenses for a year at the International School of Management?

Living expenses for applicants studying at ISM shall be EUR 11,904 per annum.

4. Do living costs differ based on the campus I choose?

Irrespective of the difference in living costs across ISM campuses, the German Visa process will require you to create a Block Account of 11,904 Euros as the annual living expenses (as prescribed by the German Government).

5. What will be the alternate pathway, if I could not get a visa from Germany after completion of the program?

As you will be studying at the Golden Gate University Worldwide program, you will be able to successfully complete the course through Golden Gate University Worldwide. In case you do not secure a Germany VISA, you may transfer to our other university partners in France, Canada or the United States, subject to your eligibility.

6. Can I do a part time job while studying in Germany?

As an international student in Germany, you can work part time. The time permitted in accordance with the immigration is 120 full days or 240 half days in a year. Typical wage in Germany is around 10 Euros per hour.

Payment

What is the process of payment for this program?

Initially, you need to deposit INR 25,000 as a block amount for seat booking. 15 days before the start of course and once you have Class 12 marksheet available, you need to make a complete payment of the remaining amount. You can opt for no-cost EMI with credit facility providers if you want to pay in installments.

Can I pay the fee semester-wise?

Total fees have two components -
1. University fees
2. Articulation fees.
Articulation fees need to be paid together at once. You can avail a 0% EMI option with a monthly installment and a down payment of INR 25,000 to block your seat. If you are availing a 0% credit card EMI, upGrad will not charge any processing fees or down payment for these transactions. Your bank may levy GST or other taxes on the interest component of the EMI. University fees can be paid in 2 semesters.

Refund Policy

Is there any deferral or refund policy for this program?

Refund Policy:

1. Payment of Caution Amount: You must pay the applicable Caution Amount as mentioned in the Offer Letter issued to You for successful enrolment to the Study Abroad Pathway. This Caution Amount will be adjustable against the Total Program Fee for the Study Abroad Pathway payable by You.

2. Pre-Cohort Commencement of the Base Program: Once you have made a partial or full payment of Total Program Fee for the Study Abroad Pathway, You may claim a refund for the amount paid by You towards the Total Program Fee for the Study Abroad Pathway at any time before the Cohort Commencement Date of the Base Program by raising a refund request through “My Applications” page on the upGrad website (www.upgrad.com), stating the specific reason for the refund.

a. The refund shall be subject to a deduction of INR. 20,000/- towards processing fee (“Refund Processing Fee”) by upGrad.

b. In case you have paid less than INR. 20,000/-, You shall not be eligible for any refund in such a case. The amount already paid by you will be considered as the amount paid towards the Refund Processing Fee.

3. Post-Cohort Commencement of the Base Program: You shall not be eligible for refund (under any circumstances) if the refund request is raised post the Cohort Commencement Date of the Base Program.

a. In such a case, You will continue to pay the EMI of Your loan or any financing facility that You may have availed in respect of the Study Abroad Pathway from the third-party service provider (if applicable) as upGrad is not a party to any such arrangements between You and the third-party credit facility provider and holds no obligation in this regard.

However, You can request a Pre-Program Deferral as per the policy defined below for the same.

4. Refund Ineligibility Due to Discrepancies: You will not be eligible for a refund of any amount paid towards the Total Program Fee for the Study Abroad Pathway if any discrepancy is identified between Your application and self-attested documents. This includes, but is not limited to, incorrect details about Your grades or any other inaccurate information provided in Your application as part of the Eligibility Criteria for the Base Program.

5. Loan Cancellation Responsibility and Indemnity: In the event of a valid refund request after obtaining a loan and/or credit facility from a third-party credit facility provider, You will be solely responsible for cancelling the loan.

a. upGrad is not a party to any such arrangements between You and the third-party credit facility provider and holds no obligation in this regard.

b. You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless upGrad, its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, losses, damages, costs, or expenses (including legal fees) arising out of or in connection with Your loan arrangement, including but not limited to any failure to cancel the loan or any disputes with the third-party credit facility provider.

6. Deferred Enrolment Due to Incomplete Documentation: If You fail to submit the required documents within the timeline specified in the Offer Letter, Your enrolment will be deferred to the next cohort. You will not be eligible for any refunds in such a case.

Deferral Policy:

Pre-Program Commencement:

1. Pre-Program Deferral Option: If You are unable to start the Base Program as per the originally enrolled cohort due to unavoidable circumstances, You may request a deferral before the Cohort Commencement Date of the Base Program subject to upGrad’s approval. Please note that upGrad reserves the right to grant or deny such requests at its discretion. In such a case, You will have the option to defer to a later cohort for the Base Program.

2. Applicable Program Fee for Deferred Cohort: The Total Program Fee for the Study Abroad Pathway applicable to You will be based on the prevailing Total Program Fee for the cohort to which You have deferred. No additional deferral fee will be required.

3. Liability for Differential Program Fee: If there is a difference in the Total Program Fee for the Study Abroad Pathway between your originally enrolled cohort and the deferred cohort, You will be required to pay the differential amount.

4. Deferrals Subject to Cohort Availability: All deferrals shall be subject to the availability of future cohorts of the Base Program. In the event that no future cohort of the Base Program is available, no deferral option shall be granted.

Post Program Commencement:

1. Deferral Due to Time Constraints: If You are facing significant difficulties in dedicating time to the Base Program, You can request for a deferral to a subsequent cohort, subject to upGrad’s approval. Please note that upGrad reserves the right to grant or deny such requests at its discretion.

2. Deferral Request Limit and Timeline: You may request a deferral only once during the Base Program, and it must be to a cohort commencing within one year from the Cohort Commencement Date of the Base Program of your originally enrolled cohort.

3. One-Time Deferral Policy: You may avail the deferral option only once during the Program period. No subsequent deferral requests will be entertained by upGrad.

4. Post-Program Deferral Fee: To process Your deferral request, You must pay an additional deferral fee of 10% of Total Program Fee for the Study Abroad Pathway, inclusive of taxes (“Post-Program Deferral Fee”). The Post -Program Deferral Fee is over and above the Total Program Fee for the Study Abroad Pathway and cannot be adjusted against it. The deferral request will be approved only after upGrad receives the Post-Program Deferral Fee.

5. Continuation in Originally enrolled Cohort Until Approval: Until the Post-Program Deferral Fee is paid, and the deferral request is approved by upGrad, You will be considered part of your originally enrolled cohort and must continue as per the Base Program requirements.

6. Payment Deadline for Post-Program Deferral Fee: You must complete the payment of the Post-Program Deferral Fee within seven days (including holidays and weekends) from the date of Your deferral request. If the payment of the Post-Program Deferral Fee is not made within this period, the deferral request will expire, and You will continue as part of the originally enrolled cohort.

7. Liability for Differential Program Fee: If there is a difference in the Total Program Fee for the Study Abroad Pathway between Your originally enrolled cohort and the deferred cohort, You will be required to pay the differential amount between the Program Fee for the Study Abroad Pathway paid by You and the Total Program Fee for the Study Abroad Pathway for the deferred cohort

8. Deferral Confirmation and Learning Progress: Once you have completed the payment of the Post-Program Deferral Fee, Your login access will be disabled for the originally enrolled cohort. You will exit the originally enrolled cohort and begin learning in the deferred cohort from the last graded assignment in the originally enrolled cohort. All grades and progress up to that point will be carried forward to the deferred cohort without any changes.

9. Deferral Request Deadline: A deferral request can only be made while Your originally enrolled cohort is ongoing. Once the originally enrolled cohort has been completed, deferral requests will not be entertained. For clarification, cohort completion refers to the “last grace deadline” as communicated by upGrad.

10. Deferrals Subject to Cohort Availability: All deferrals shall be subject to the availability of future cohorts of the Base Program. In the event that no future cohort of the Base Program is available, no deferral option shall be granted.
